Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Cardiothoracic Surgery II

Join Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital’s Cardiothoracic Surgery team! We are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to provide advanced care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with 2 experienced APPs and 3 attending surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Manage cardiothoracic surgery patients across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases, including follow-up after discharge.
• Round in ICU and inpatient floors (typical patient load per PA : 2–3).
• Perform patient evaluations, place orders, and maintain accurate EMR documentation (progress notes, consultations, discharge summaries, patient education).
• Operating Room Duties :
• Conduit harvesting for CABG (endoscopic and open vein and radial artery).
• First assist during cardiac and thoracic cases (CABG, valve repair / replacement, aortic aneurysm / dissection surgeries).
• Cross-coverage for thoracic cases (open and minimally invasive esophagectomies, lung resections via VATS).
• Clinic Duties :
• Office visits, minor procedures, patient / family education, and follow-up care.
