Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract

Location : Abilene, Texas 79601 (Texas nursing jobs)

Start Date : November 10, 2025

End Date : February 9, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : Days, 3x12-hour shifts (06 : 30 - 19 : 00), Monday–Wednesday; late days and on-call required

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860 - $2000

Patient Population : Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)

Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Proven experience with craniotomy and burr hole procedures

Clinical experience in Neuro / Spine, Ortho / Trauma, and General / Robotics / Trauma surgeries

Endoscopy / Advanced GI procedure experience preferred (may float to GI / endoscopy)

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS; CNOR preferred

Previous charge nurse and trauma level I / II experience preferred

Familiarity with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

OR RN Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients in the main operating room

Assist with a range of surgical procedures, including neuro / spine, ortho / trauma, general, and robotics cases

Demonstrate proficiency in craniotomy and burr hole surgeries

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)

Participate in call rotation and work late shifts as needed

Float to GI / endoscopy unit as required

Maintain accurate, timely documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems

Support a 1 : 1 patient ratio in the OR setting
