Hi there! We’re BLKDG (pronounced Black Dog). We’ve been leading the Denver digital scene since 2013 with our expertise in building complex web solutions, and crafting really good user experience. And now BLKDG is seeking a highly motivated Creative Director to lead our agency into the future. This role blends creative leadership with the ability to roll up your sleeves to bring ideas to life across websites, campaigns, and digital experiences that make measurable impacts for our clients.

As the Creative Director, you will drive the creative vision and execution of high-impact digital content — from ideation through production and across web interfaces, paid media, and emerging platforms. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams including strategy, media, content, and production to develop compelling and measurable creative that connects with audiences and drives results.

who defines clear revision and scope standards, ensuring process clarity and high‑quality output.

who understands how design systems, brand storytelling, and marketing performance intersect.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire creative teams

across web / digital design and marketing creative, ensuring consistency, innovation, and quality in all work.

Own the creative vision

from concept to execution for websites, brand systems, and marketing campaigns.

Jump in as needed

to support hands‑on creative execution—whether in design, concepting, or presentation—modeling teamwork and accountability.

Partner with strategy, UX, and development teams

to ensure that creative work aligns with user needs, brand strategy, and business goals.

Oversee creative operations , including revision standards, scoping clarity, and process efficiency.

Mentor and grow creative talent , fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.

Present creative ideas

to clients with confidence and clarity, serving as the primary creative voice in meetings and pitches.

Collaborate with the sales team on business development efforts —leveraging your creative expertise and existing network to grow our client base through outreach opportunities and new partnerships.

Contribute to proposal and pitch development , shaping creative strategies that win new business and strengthen client relationships.

Champion BLKDG’s creative presence , pursuing awards, speaking engagements, and thought leadership that elevate the agency’s visibility.

Collaborate with leadership

to define long‑term creative goals, shaping the evolution of BLKDG’s digital and marketing service offerings.

Qualifications & Key Skills

Deep curiosity and interest in how AI is shaping creative industries, with a proactive mindset toward integrating emerging tools and technologies into design and marketing workflows.

Passion for innovation and experimentation, with a drive to expand BLKDG’s creative offerings and explore new digital formats, tools, and experiences.

Expert‑level proficiency in WebFlow and Figma, with experience building and maintaining scalable design systems and efficient team workflows.

Experience leading creative innovation initiatives or research & development efforts within an agency—helping teams test, refine, and adopt new methods or technologies.

Strong understanding of digital marketing ecosystems, including how design, performance, and content strategy intersect.

Comfort working with WebFlow, Shopify, WordPress, and other CMS platforms, collaborating effectively with development teams to ensure creative integrity through build.

Familiarity with web accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Experience contributing to agency growth and visibility through case studies, award submissions, public speaking, or thought leadership.

Ability to translate creative direction into measurable outcomes, connecting design excellence to client ROI and business success.

Previous involvement in new business strategy or pitch development, helping articulate creative vision and agency capabilities to prospective clients.

An eye for brand evolution and market trends, with the instinct to identify when and how BLKDG can lead in design innovation.

Compensation Range

$95,000 - $140,000 / year. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. BLKDG anticipates the application deadline for this job posting will be 11 / 30 / 25.
