Alabama Licensed Mortgage Underwriter

A company is looking for a Mortgage Senior Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities :

Underwrite conventional and government mortgage loans per product and investor guidelines

Ensure compliance with investor requirements, federal and state laws and regulations

Perform risk assessments of credit and collateral to ensure loan saleability and sound credit quality

Required Qualifications :

Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant work experience plus 4-6 years of mortgage underwriting experience

Direct Endorsement (DE) or LAPP approval preferred

Full knowledge of credit risk and understanding of appraisals

Thorough knowledge of DU / LP valuations and applicable industry tools

Understanding of conforming and non-conforming guidelines
