About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics

Experience : Minimum 1 year of NICU Level 4 / Trauma Level 1 experience

License : California RCP License in hand

Certifications : NBRC RRT, BLS, PALS, NRP (Advanced)

Must-Have :

• Minimum 1 year experience in a Level IV NICU / Trauma Level 1 facility
• Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care
• Ability to float to meet facility needs

Description :

Start date for this position is January 5.

Travelers must have at least 1 year of experience in a NICU Level 4 / Trauma Level 1 facility.

No scheduling requests or blocked scheduling are allowed.

Travelers must not be working another job while submitting for this position.

Seeking clinicians with a strong pediatric ICU skill set.

Therapists should be able to work across at least two of the three ICUs, including a Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and / or Cardiothoracic ICU.

Weekend shifts are required as per contract, amounting to 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period.

Scheduling blocks are 4 weeks long, and staff will be scheduled for weekends whenever possible, though it is not guaranteed.

Day shift weekends are considered Saturdays and Sundays, while night shift weekends are considered Fridays and Saturdays.

Travelers are required to work 2 out of the 3 holidays.

The patient population includes pediatrics with acute care on the floors, pulmonary issues, trauma, and high acuity patients.

This includes treatment of conditions such as asthma, bronchiolitis, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, cystic fibrosis, and tracheostomy-ventilated support.

Experience is needed with therapies including specialty gases heliox and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO).

Therapists will also care for patients in the PICU, NICU, and CTICU.

This position requires floating to meet facility needs.

Additional preferred equipment experience includes Hamilton G5 and AVEA ventilators, as well as BiPAP and high flow nasal cannula systems.

Candidates should be prepared to manage and provide pulmonary hygiene, administer aerosol therapy, and perform suctioning procedures.

All candidates must have a strong background in pediatric critical care and be proficient in various respiratory therapy procedures and techniques.
