Radiology Locums Job in California Monday-Friday Beginning January - Ongoing Assignment
Coverage Details :
One week every other month for 6-9 months (specific week based on other physician's schedule)
Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM
Credentialing Timeframe : 90-120 days
Requirements :
Board Certified (highly preferred) or Board Eligible
California State License
Residency Required; No fellowship required
Clean malpractice history (Highly Preferred)
Ability to perform diagnostic mammograms and breast biopsies
Must maintain MQSA standards (960 mammography studies interpreted every 24 months)
BLS / ACLS and DEA required during credentialing
Required Procedures :
Mammography
PET
Breast biopsies
Duties :
Read studies of all modalities
Perform diagnostic mammograms and breast biopsies
Read PET scans (preferred)
Assignment Details : Outpatient Clinic
EMR : Cerner
Support Staff : Radiology techs, US techs, and other support staff
Average Monthly Volumes :
Procedures (wire loc, biopsy, etc.) : 13
Screening Mammos : 225
Diagnostic Mammograms : 30
Types of Reads :
For the Interventional Radiologist (IR)
Perform basic procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, drain placements, abdominal drains, suprapubic catheters, and nephrostomy tubes
Interpret CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, and MRIs
Review radiology studies from the emergency department and inpatient list during the day
If uncomfortable with any study, option to forward to MRG (Teleradiology group)
For the Radiologist
Primary focus on mammography and breast biopsies
Ability to read PET scans is highly appreciated
Additional reads may include CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound
