American Traveler is hiring a skilled ER RN with a current CA RN license and three years of experience for a busy emergency department with night shift and every other weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

Work in an acute care emergency department setting15-bed ER with 6 chair waiting area, seeing 120-130 patients per dayCertified Primary Stroke Center and designated for pediatric emergenciesPatient ratios are based on acuityShifts are 12 hours at night, with every other weekend requiredTravelers may be scheduled for day, midshift, or night shiftsRN must be able to read monitor strips and scan all medicationsUnit uses Cerner and Meditech EMR systemsVents in use, lab draws performed by nurses, and no IV team availableEMTs present but do not perform IVs; monitor tech doubles as unit secretarySecurity presence in the ER lobby 24 / 7Provide emergency care for adult and pediatric patients including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and pediatric emergenciesParticipation in floor-specific orientation for 2-3 shifts on unitNavy scrubs required as uniformMust work holidays as neededTravelers are required to scan all medicationsRN responsible for own lab draws and must be proficient with ventsNo floating required for this positionPrevious direct employment with associated health systems within last year is not allowed\n \n

Current, active CA RN license (no pending licenses accepted)Minimum of 3 years recent ER RN experience requiredCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, COVID vaccine documentationPass an online triage module if not previously completedAbility to read and interpret cardiac rhythmsTwo professional references : one from a supervisor within last 12 months, one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 yearsCopy of valid driver's license required for considerationTravel nursing experience preferredAbility to scan medications for medication administration\n
