Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary : $1930 - $2070 Location : Bel Air, Maryland (zip 21014) Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7 : 00pm – 7 : 30am), every other weekend required Hours per Week : 36 Unit : Labor & Delivery (LDRP), Special Care Nursery (Level II NICU) Orientation : 24 hours Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Active Maryland or Compact RN license required BLS and NRP certifications (AHA or AAP only) Preferred : Experience with Epic charting system and community hospital setting Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Ability to float within hospital units as needed References : 2 satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor / manager and 1 charge RN) Permanent residence must be 50 miles from facility Compliance documents due 5 days prior to start Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages Manage labor and delivery processes, including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and triage Support breastfeeding and lactation education for new mothers Perform newborn assessments and provide care for neonates in the Special Care Nursery Administer medications and therapies (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, etc.) Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and respond to obstetric emergencies Educate parents on discharge instructions, newborn care, and safety Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other hospital units within scope of experience as needed Discover the charm of Bel Air, Maryland, while making a difference in women's health and newborn care.
