Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commercial initiatives across chartering, newbuilding, and sale & purchase projects to drive strategic growth.
- Initiate, negotiate, and finalize various commercial contracts, including newbuilding, chartering, and S&P agreements.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities.
- Coordinate closely with technical, operations, and finance teams to analyze project feasibility and ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor market trends and provide strategic insights to support fleet planning and positioning.
- Follow up on contract execution to ensure compliance and timely completion of projects.
- Act as a backup for the Senior VP Commercial when necessary, representing the department in internal and external meetings.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's wider commercial objectives.
Commercial Manager Requirements
At least 8-10 years of maritime shipping experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years in chartering, preferably within the dry bulk sectorStrong expertise in dry bulk markets, contract negotiations, and client relationship managementProficiency in analyzing voyage and fleet performance using tools such as ExcelExcellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with an outgoing personalityStrong analytical thinking and logical deduction abilitiesAbility to work independently and handle complex projects with minimal supervisionWillingness to work beyond standard hours to accommodate global clients and operationsNice to Have Skills
Experience with newbuilding projects and sale & purchase transactionsMaritime-related academic background, such as a maritime degree or higher education in scienceKnowledge of international maritime regulations and certificationsFluency in additional languages is a plusPreferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, science, or related fields; master's degree is advantageousProven success in negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts in a maritime shipping contextOther Requirements
