Position Title : On-Site Tutor - Volunteer
Location : In-Person at The Epic
Commitment : Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5 : 00–7 : 00 PM (Central)
Reports To : Program Director
Position Overview
The Volunteer Tutor supports students' academic growth by providing individualized or small-group tutoring in core subjects (e.g., reading, writing, math). Tutors help build foundational skills, confidence, and a love of learning in a supportive, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic assistance in assigned subject areas.
- Support homework, test prep, and skill-building activities.
- Build positive, encouraging relationships to promote engagement.
- Track student progress and share observations with the Program Coordinator.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow program guidelines.
- Attend orientation and ongoing trainings.
- Honor a consistent tutoring schedule (Tues / Thurs 5–7 PM).
Qualifications
Must be in high school, collegeProficiency in subject(s) tutored.Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills.Comfortable working with diverse learners and levels.Prior tutoring / teaching experience is a plus, not required.Time Commitment
Two sessions per week : Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5 : 00–7 : 00 PM (2 hours each) on a consistent basis.Minimum suggested commitment : [e.g., 10–12 weeks / one semester].Training & Support
