Job Title : Ophthalmic Technician

Summary :

The Ophthalmic Technician will facilitate the smooth and efficient processing of new and returning patients through testing and treatment procedures. Will strive to anticipate the needs of patients and doctors. Will model pleasant, professional, and collaborative behavior and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Essential Functions :

• Greet patients in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Obtain and document history in chart on EHR.
• Perform pre-exam tests, including A / R, confrontational field, stereo vision, color vision, lensometer reading, visual acuity, pupil check, motility, IOPs and dilation.
• Perform diagnostic testing – OCT, fundus and slit-lamp photos, visual field.
• Clean exam rooms using sanitization protocols.
• Always communicate with the other technicians to ensure proper flow of patients.

Physical Requirements / Typical Working Conditions Environment : Primarily a temperature-controlled facility.
