About the Role

The Program Manager of Health Information Management (HIM) is a highly responsible professional position that oversees the Health Information Management department and all related aspects of medical records within the agency. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology and regulations, and a strong attention to detail. The individual in this role must have a strong working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Chapter 42 of the Code of Federal regulations (CFR), and other relevant federal regulations and applicable Florida statutes and rules. The Manager of HIM plays a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of patient information while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health information management.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in health care related field preferred.
• Certified Health Information Management Professional (CHIM), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to medical records management and confidentiality and privacy laws. Strong understanding of the requirements and best practices for healthcare documentation.
