Electronic Health Record Systems Administrator

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the EHR and related clinical systems for the Behavioral Health and Wellness (BHW) division. Ensures system functionality and supports compliance with Medi-Cal, DMH, HIPAA, and agency standards while enabling efficient, user-centered workflows. Serves as the primary liaison between clinical teams, IT, and vendors, to support user training, onboarding, and system improvements to enhance operational success, data quality, and compliance.

DUTIES

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the EHR and related clinical systems for the Behavioral Health and Wellness (BHW) division. Ensures system functionality and supports compliance with Medi-Cal, DMH, HIPAA, and agency standards while enabling efficient, user-centered workflows. Serves as the primary liaison between clinical teams, IT, and vendors, to support user training, onboarding, and system improvements to enhance operational success, data quality, and compliance.

Essential Duties

  • Administer and maintain Exym including user setup, permissions, and security protocols
  • Coordinate and implement system updates, enhancements, and vendor releases.
  • Collaborate with clinical, QA, billing, and compliance partners to improve workflows and ensure system alignment with documentation and billing requirements.
  • Maintain training materials and facilitate EHR training.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and serve as the primary point of contact for EHR support.
  • Support the integration of the EHR with related platforms such as billing, analytics, and engagement tools.
  • Develop test plans and evaluate system configurations prior to rollout.
  • Ensure documentation standards are compliant with Medi-Cal and DMH requirements.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in strategic planning for future enhancements and reporting improvements.
  • Contribute to performance quality improvement activities related to clinical systems.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or Systems & Network Administration required
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or Information Systems preferred
  • Experience supporting healthcare IT systems or EHR platforms (e.g., Exym, Axiom, Welligent)
  • Familiarity with HIPAA Security and Privacy rules
  • Experience with APIs, secure file transfer protocols, and cloud-based systems
  • Other Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed
  • Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic background of service populations
  • Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Maintains client and employee privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.

  • Compensation

    $73,601.00 USD - $85,469.00 USD
