About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry and post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery.

License : Active nursing license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have :

• Strong cardiac telemetry experience
• Post-cardiac and vascular surgery experience

Description :

The unit specializes in post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients.

Patients may be 17-24 hours post-surgery or fresh post-cardiac procedures.

This is a surgical stepdown unit for post-cardiovascular surgery patients.

Candidates should have a strong background in cardiac telemetry.

The patient ratio is 4 : 1 for days and nights.

Staff may be required to float to other appropriate units.

Nurses will manage a variety of drips including insulin and amiodarone.

Procedures include care for patients after coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomies, and more.

Interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.

The expected daily census is approximately 18 patients.

This role requires candidates to demonstrate competencies for floating to other units.
