Job Summary :
The Injection Molding Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and uptime of injection molding machines and associated equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of molding operations to support high-quality and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose, repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in injection molding machines.
- Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on molding machines and auxiliary equipment (e.g., thermolators, chillers, compressors).
- Conduct daily inspections and ensure equipment is operating within specified parameters.
- Diagnose faults in servo systems, injection units, clamping systems, and temperature control units.
- Conduct routine inspections and calibrations to ensure machines operate within OEM specifications.
Process Support
Collaborate with process engineers to optimize molding conditions and reduce cycle times.Support mold changes and ensure proper setup and alignment.Maintain thermoplastic molds to ensure consistent quality and yield.Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, mold change sheets, and inspection records.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.Continuous Improvement
Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency.Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in injection molding maintenance.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Technical degree preferred).3–10 years of experience in injection molding machine maintenance.Strong knowledge of :
Electrical controls and PLC troubleshootingHydraulic and pneumatic systemsMold setup and maintenanceExperience with automation and robotics is a plus.Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
