What You Will Do
- Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to : Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
- Perform the removal, repair and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque convertors, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components.
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems such as : hydraulic, power train and engines.
- Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.
- Operate mobile equipment such as : Overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
- Perform welding such as : Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick.
- Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
- Train and mentor other employees.
- Perform other duties as required.
Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical / maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance / construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I : Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsAbility to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision-making skillsAbility to troubleshoot machine systemsAbility to work and effectively communicate with othersAbility to read and use blueprintsPreferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GEDFPM Certified Diagnostic Mechanic : 75 % FLEX score requires : Welding 3G qualification : Practical Assessments defined in LOPJourneyman level structural iron workingProficiency in SMAW & FCAW weld process and air arcProficiency with blueprint readingProficiency in layout processBe able to perform work with little to no direction from supervisorProficiency in repair or replace structural work and shoring processMachinist Skills / Experienced in Mill, Lathe and CNC machines.What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $28.00 - $38.00 / hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
