Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer on behalf of our client, a civil engineering consultant based in the Pittsburgh area. The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for process and detailed design associated with municipal water / wastewater treatment plants and pump stations. The Senior Design Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and will work directly with the project managers.
Responsibilities : -Preliminary meetings with clients to gain an understanding of existing conditions, problems, and scope of work.-Ability and willingness to complete site visits to gain a complete understanding of existing conditions and space constraints.-Analyze operating data and complete predictive modeling and calculations as required to size pumps, blowers, and treatment processes.-Complete treatment plant hydraulic profile calculations.-Complete mass balance and process calculations.-Prepare planning and design reports for client and regulatory review.-Coordinate work with Geotechnical, Civil / Site, Structural, HVAC, Electrical, and Process Control disciplines.-Work with CAD staff to produce and manage drawing sets.-Prepare and submit permit applications.-Prepare contract specifications for public bid.-Work with the Project Manager to provide technical support during the project bid phase.-Work with the Project Manager and clients to provide technical support during construction phase including : submittal review, RFI review, field engineering as required to accommodate unforeseen conditions, and oversee process / equipment startup and testing.
Qualifications : -Qualified candidate will have 7+ years of experience in project planning and detailed design engineering focused on municipal and / or industrial water and / or wastewater treatment and pumping systems-Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering or a related field-PA licensed
