The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications :

• A Bachelor's degree and 2 years work experience in mental health direct service (One year of which must be work experience in PRS) and CPRP certification shall be attained within 2 years from the date of hire as a psychiatric rehabilitation specialist.
• OR have a current CPRP certification.
• Knowledge and understanding of severe mental illness, recovery principles and recovery driven service system required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• All Clearances required by OMHSAS regulations.

Earn $23.55 / hour with the selection of the Enhanced Pay Option.

Position Details

The Forensic Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist (PRS) promotes recovery, community integration, and improved quality of life for all residents. The PRS provides services focused on helping individuals develop skills and access resources needed to increase their capacity to be successful and satisfied in living, working, learning and social environments of their choice.

The PRS will facilitate psychotherapy groups to enhance positive peer interaction, develop problem solving skills, and assist individuals in following their treatment goals. They will engage consumers in appropriate life skills to develop abilities to live as independently as possible and safely / respectfully manage agitated and hostile consumers with appropriate use of de-escalation techniques.
