Academic Coach
The mission of The Ed Ladder is to help students thrive through academic instruction, support and mentoring that is accessible to everyone regardless of life circumstances.
The Academic Coach will provide in-person academic support to 6th to 12th graders in Academic Resource Centers all over San Diego County. Locations include Carlsbad, Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, North Park, Paradise Hills, East Village, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and Southeast San Diego.
The Academic Coach will work in an autonomous environment, building rewarding relationships with students from vulnerable communities. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for improving students’ learning experiences and get excited about teaching math! This role provides excellent experience for anyone interested in becoming a teacher.

Compensation : The hourly range for this position is $20-25 per hour commensurate with work experience, skills and educational background. Paid sick leave of one hour after every 30 hours accrued is included in this position.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment : Work is performed in a classroom setting; regularly standing and working directly with children for up to 6 per day; occasionally lifts, carries and positions objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Additional Information : This position is part-time, with work on-site, at specific Academic Resources Centers throughout San Diego, CA. No relocation offered. There will be a total of 5 openings and exact addresses may vary.
