About The Position

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of overall experience required.

Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Emergency Room experience preferred.

License :

Current state nursing license required.

Certifications : ACLS

CPI (preferred)

PALS

TNCC

ATCN (preferred)

Must-Have :

Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center.

Previous charge experience preferred.

Patient ratio experience of 4 : 1.

Charting system experience preferred.

Description :

The position involves working in a Pediatric Emergency Department setting.

Candidates must have skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care / management.

Experience in the management of patients with cerebrovascular accidents and traumatic brain injuries is beneficial.

Nurses will be responsible for interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases.

Knowledge of isolation precautions and IV vasopressor management is required.

The department serves a diverse patient population, including neonates and adolescents.

Daily census and patient visits exceed 200.

The unit features a total of 58 beds.

Interdisciplinary support includes teams from physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Essential skills include triage, starting and maintaining IVs, and procedural sedation administration / monitoring.

This role requires mandatory floating between departments in the organization.

Working with ventilated patients is a component of this position.

The candidate must be flexible in scheduling and willing to provide weekend coverage.
