Corewell Health is offering up to $1500 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! 5 Northwest is a 33-bed surgical unit specializing in care of adult patients. We provide compassionate, high-quality patient and family centered care for a wide variety of surgical patients. 5 Northwest regularly cares for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, general surgery, and trauma work up as well as patients with Congestive Heart Failure. Our mission is to always provide our patients and their families with an exceptional experience during their stay with us on the unit. Scope of work includes providing care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This also includes safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services. The role also involves providing the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his / her safety. Additionally, general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit are required. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record is also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications include a high school graduate or equivalent. Previous hospital or nursing home experience is preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support is required. Current CNA certification is preferred.
