Job Description

Duties : We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Patient Registrar to support front-end administrative functions in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office operations, electronic medical records (EMR), and health insurance processes, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key responsibilities include :

o Perform patient registration, including verifying demographic and insurance information

o Ensure accurate data entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

o Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including managed care plans

o Collect co-pays and provide patients with necessary documentation

o Maintain knowledge of health insurance requirements, authorizations, and referrals

o Apply medical coding standards including ICD-9 and CPT-4 where applicable

o Answer incoming calls and provide prompt, professional responses

o Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure patient flow

o Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations

Qualifications :

o High School Diploma or GED (Required)

o Graduate of a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Program (Required)

o Minimum of 3 years clerical experience in a medical office setting (Required)

o Data entry skills of at least 4,500 keystrokes per hour

o Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9, CPT-4)

o Strong understanding of health insurance benefits and requirements

o Excellent customer service and effective communication skills

o Proficiency in telephone and computer usage, including keyboarding

o Experience using EMR systems (Required)

o Familiarity with managed care insurance plans (Required)
