SUMMARY
The Territory Manager is responsible for driving volume and profit growth using a balanced approach to new business and account management for existing clients within the territory. The Territory Manager also maintains and develops customer relationships by meeting sales targets / customers, prospecting new business, and creating demand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
- Responsible for aggressively developing a pipeline of new business focused on stocking dealers and projects
- Create pull-through for dealer customers by working with their builder / contractor customers
- Introduce new products and complementary products to existing and new customers
- Develop and carry out strategies to increase market share of our products with new and existing customers
- Execute and implement company promotions and programs
- Prospect and develop new business targets / opportunities
Account Management
Responsible for maintaining and protecting existing dealer businessTrain dealer sales teams on product knowledge and selling techniquesProvide merchandising support to the dealer baseAddress and resolve customer complaints and or claimsSet up and attend trade showsContinue building relationships through excellent customer service and product resolutionQUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong customer service skills both in person and virtuallySelf-motivated and functions well independently as well as within in a teamAbility to present to groups both large and smallMicrosoft Office, including hosting presentationHave strong closing skills with customers and follow up on commitmentsAbility to travel throughout the assigned territory as requiredStrong analytical skills, including identifying and analyzing key, market, customer, and competitive trends.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred or industry experience equivalent3+ years’ experience in customer-facing sales within the building products industryHave direct exposure to resolving customer concernsExperience in customer-facing sellingUnderstanding of the building installation processWORK ENVIRONMENT
In-market 85% of the time (customer-facing)Occasional overnight travel required.Must react to short lead customer requestsBenefits
