About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in designing and developing cutting-edge truck upfitting solutions, with a strong emphasis on mechanical systems and fuel and lube truck configurations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, solution-driven environment and is passionate about delivering high-performance, field-ready vehicles for demanding industries.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and manufacturing engineers in the development of custom truck upfitting solutions.
- Oversee the design, prototyping, and validation of mechanical systems, including fuel and lube delivery systems, hydraulic components, and structural modifications.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and procurement teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements, cost targets, and manufacturability standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, documentation, and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with DOT and other regulatory standards relevant to commercial vehicle modifications.
- Manage engineering project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and design methodologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support during production and field deployment phases.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).7+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.Proven experience in truck upfitting, heavy equipment, or mobile fluid systems (fuel / lube / hydraulics).Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and FEA tools.Strong understanding of vehicle systems integration, structural design, and fluid dynamics.Excellent project management, communication, and team leadership skills.Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Preferred Skills :
Experience with mobile service trucks, fuel / lube skids, or hydraulic-driven systems.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.Knowledge of electrical systems integration is a plus.Familiarity with or ability to write test plans.Why Join Us?
