Role Summary / Purpose
The Vice President, Solution Architect craves working in a hands‑on system design and architecture environment and leads by example to make sure time sensitive projects get done on time and to specifications. To be successful in this role, deep expertise in solution architecture using Mobile Native UI, Native SDKs, API, and Web views built for iOS and Android apps; ability to influence, and lead multiple teams is crucial in this role.
This VP will lead the architecture, development and production support of our digital servicing and acquisition SDK (SyPI) by creating and developing thoughtful solutions to anticipate bugs and maintain operational excellence. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in‑person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities
Influence many agile development teams through all phases of the Agile development life cycle in accordance with the Scaled Agile FrameworkImplement new technologies and assist developers as they migrate to new technologiesArchitect iOS, Android applications and mobile SDKs to work in a Microservices ecosystem comprising RESTful APIs, API Gateway and Spring Framework.Experience in architecting, delivering and supporting iOS and Android applications is a mustDesign data models to support complex business processesDrive a CI / CD strategy using our Bitrise, Bitbucket, CloudBees, Jenkins, and uDeploy stackStrong experience with App Store and Play Store ecosystems and processesWorking knowledge of the overall mobile industryPartner with train and agile team leaders to drive and deliver results at every Program IncrementInfluence and collaborate with software developers, UX designers, product managers, application architects, and developers across multiple platforms to create amazing apps.Mentor and influence all levels of the team : in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence up, down, and across the chain of commandEnsure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards set by SynchronyAssist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology architectural strategy, along with our application modernization and migration roadmap.Lead Agile sprints as the technical expert, including sprint planning, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint reviewsEnsure application code quality through development, test, and deliveryDefine and establish Non-Functional Requirements for covering Performance, Security, Reliability, Scalabilty, Usability, Maintainability and PortabilityParticipate in addressing root cause analysis, incident reports and provide direction in problem resolutionAbility to analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, and implement fixesPassionate about the latest technologies, open-source projects and languagesProvide 24x7 on‑call escalation support throughout the yearIdentify and implement ways to increase efficiency and improve system performance within engineering and the development lifecycleWork with third party vendors to develop software and / or integrate their software into the company's productsCoach and mentor engineering leads to expand in their knowledge and abilityPerform other duties and / or special projects as assignedQualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience with software engineering OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma / GED 10 years of experience with software engineeringMinimum 6 years of application development experienceMobile native application development background for iOS and Android platformsCritical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skillsAbility to clearly communicate complex topics with business and client stakeholdersAbility and flexibility to travel for business as requiredDesired Characteristics

The salary range for this position is 135,000.00 - 230,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
