The Division of Hematology and Oncology at UCI School of Medicine was founded in 1978. In the more than four decades since that time, we have grown to become a thriving organization with a nationally recognized reputation for training the next generation of outstanding physicians, innovating in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of cancers and hematologic conditions.
Your Role on the Team
The position of Physician Assistant in the Department of Medicine, Hematology / Oncology Division, HSCTCT Program, requires a highly competent, independent yet team-oriented individual who will be a critical part of the team for caring for patients. Under the supervision of Medical Director(s) and the APP Supervisor, and guided by the applicable policies and procedures, the Physician Assistant will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in the inpatient settings at the UCI Irvine Hospital, and provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and families, inpatient team and referring physicians. A Physician Assistant is an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who possesses the clinical skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to provide advanced nursing care and education in their area of hematologic malignancies, stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.
This position may perform :
POPULATION SERVED : Adults receiving autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants and cellular therapy (chimeric antigen receptor T-cells).
