We are seeking a driven Project Architect II with 5-8 years of experience to join the CWA Group team.
Job Description :
As a Project Architect II, you will take a leading role in the coordination and technical execution of architectural projects. This licensed professional role requires solid experience managing day-to-day project workflows, coordinating internal teams and consultants, and maintaining the design intent through all phases of the project. You will lead smaller projects or serve as a key technical lead on larger, more complex projects under the guidance of a Senior Project Architect and assistance from Project Managers as appropriate. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, strong communicator, and emerging leader who is ready to mentor junior staff and grow toward a Senior Project Architect role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the day-to-day coordination and technical execution of architectural projects from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.
- Coordinate and manage internal project teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain design intent, quality, and alignment with project goals.
- Develop and refine design solutions and documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders regarding project progress, technical issues, and design decisions.
- Prepare and update project schedules, scopes of work, and documentation in coordination with Project Managers.
- Review and oversee the quality of construction documents prepared by junior staff, providing redlines, guidance, and mentorship.
- Conduct code research, evaluate technical solutions, and help resolve design and coordination conflicts.
- Lead or support construction administration tasks, including submittal review, RFIs, site visits, and punch lists.
- Participate in project and client meetings, presenting design and technical information clearly and professionally.
- Uphold and promote CWA Groups standards for design, documentation, and client service across all assigned projects.
Role Requirements :
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Architecture from an accredited program.Active architectural license in the state of Oklahoma (or eligibility for reciprocity).Approximately 58 years of professional experience in architectural practice.Demonstrated experience leading the technical coordination and documentation of small to mid-size projects and supporting larger, more complex projects.Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with AutoCAD; experience with visualization tools (SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is preferred.Strong understanding of building systems, detailing, building codes, and construction administration.Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines, manage deadlines, and organize project workflows.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.Desire and readiness to grow into a Senior Project Architect role, including increased leadership and mentorship responsibilities.Preferred Skills :
Experience mentoring junior staff, including delegating tasks and reviewing work for quality and completeness.Experience with educational and public-sector architecture.Familiarity with project management or construction administration platforms (e.g., ProCore).LEED accreditation or demonstrated experience with sustainable design practices.Why Join Us?
