PAY : 30 an hour and 142 in per diem for days worked

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter with extensive experience in both commercial and naval settings to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in ship fabrication, fitting, and welding techniques.

Responsibilities

Perform ship fabrication and fitting tasks using blueprints and technical drawings.

Conduct tack welding and burning using Oxygen / Propane torches.

Utilize arc gouging and grinding techniques for shipbuilding processes.

Ensure precision in ship building and fitting tasks, maintaining high standards of quality.

Essential Skills

Minimum of four years of experience as a first-class Shipfitter in commercial / naval environments.

Proficiency in single pass tack welding.

Skilled in the use of Oxygen / Propane Burning and Heating Torches.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in ship building and fabrication processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00 / hr.
