Job Description
A confidential pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician / Cashier to support pharmacists and provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists with labeling, filling, and verifying prescriptions.
Provide customer service by assisting patients with drop-off and pick-up of medications.
Enter and verify prescription orders in the pharmacy computer system for pharmacist review.
Perform cashier duties, including processing cash, credit, and insurance payments, issuing refunds, and balancing daily transactions.
Work with insurance carriers to secure payments and resolve billing issues.
Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, storing, and tracking medications and supplies.
Handle expired or discontinued products with proper documentation.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and pharmacy regulations while safeguarding sensitive information.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
MediClear certification or equivalent required.
Experience assisting pharmacists with prescriptions and pharmacy operations preferred.
Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and adhere to safety and confidentiality standards.
Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations and medical terminology a plus.
