American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position requiring BLS, EPIC, and acute rehab experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in an acute care hospital settingDay shift, Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm with weekend rotation every 6 weeksDaily caseload averages 8–10 patients per therapistPatient population includes acute care, CVA rehab, hip fractures, joint replacements, and neurodegenerative disordersRequires floating within service line and scope as neededEpic is the EMR used and experience is requiredDuties include evaluation, reassessment, developing plan of care, discharge planning, and thorough documentationNo on-call requiredMust wear tan pants and black top as dress codeFree parking available on siteMust reside outside a 75-mile radius—no local candidates acceptedFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionReturn staff must wait one year before returning as a travelerRTO may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract and is not permitted during the first week of assignmentInitial orientation will occur on weekdays\n \n Requirements\n
Current state OT license required if applicableCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of recent acute care occupational therapy experienceExperience with Epic EMR requiredCVA rehabilitation and adaptive equipment assessment experience requiredExperience with hip and knee replacement rehabilitation requiredAbility to provide patient and family education, perform cognitive assessments, and implement safety / injury prevention strategiesExperience with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease preferred\n Benefits\n
