Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position requiring BLS, EPIC, and acute rehab experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in an acute care hospital setting
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm with weekend rotation every 6 weeks
  • Daily caseload averages 8–10 patients per therapist
  • Patient population includes acute care, CVA rehab, hip fractures, joint replacements, and neurodegenerative disorders
  • Requires floating within service line and scope as needed
  • Epic is the EMR used and experience is required
  • Duties include evaluation, reassessment, developing plan of care, discharge planning, and thorough documentation
  • No on-call required
  • Must wear tan pants and black top as dress code
  • Free parking available on site
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius—no local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Return staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract and is not permitted during the first week of assignment
  • Initial orientation will occur on weekdays

  • Current state OT license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care occupational therapy experience
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • CVA rehabilitation and adaptive equipment assessment experience required
  • Experience with hip and knee replacement rehabilitation required
  • Ability to provide patient and family education, perform cognitive assessments, and implement safety / injury prevention strategies
  • Experience with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease preferred
