The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is looking to hire six (6) Data Processing Systems Analyst (DPSA) I . As a DPSA I youll work alongside experienced analysts to design develop and support critical data systems that keep our operations running smoothly. What Youll Do :

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic system issues and defect.
• Write and maintain database query scripts.
• Maintains and supports a variety of network systems.
• Assists in the design and implementation of infrastructure projects.
• Prepare test data and run test scripts.
• Process data to deliver accurate results.
• Monitor system operations and events.
• Develop scripts for operational statistics.
• Assist in software development and enhancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in Computer Science Public or Business Administration Accounting Mathematics or a related field.

Substitution : Work experience may be substituted for the Bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge skills and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a Bachelors degree.

For example :

1. Four (4) years of professional work experience in any occupation may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in computer science information technology management information systems (MIS) or similar area may substitute for a general bachelors degree.

The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college / university in the United order to receive credit for the education proper documentation e.g. a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :

One (1) year of experience in the analysis of operating practices methods and procedures some of which shall have involved the conduct of feasibility studies and the analysis and design of systems for the electronic processing of data.

Substitution :

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or MIS from an accredited four year college or university may be substituted for six months of experience in the analysis of operating practices methods and procedures.

A Masters degree in Computer Science or MIS from an accredited four year college or university may be substituted for one year of experience in the analysis of operating practices methods and procedures.
