Summary
Under direct supervision of senior team members and InnovationAnalytics leaders, Business Intelligence Analyst I is responsiblefor the delivery of analytics solutions to end users thatfacilitate informed decision making. Promotes data literacy by educating customers to use data as a toolfor improving MyMichigan processes, patient outcomes andengagement. Uses development tools to generate reports, dashboards andanalytical solutions according to business needs andspecifications. Splits time between projects and support activitieswhile adhering to MyMichigan Health's policies and procedures.Quickly adapts to changing priorities and maintains high qualitywork. Demonstrates ability to work independently and / or in a teamto train, guide, or assist others to perform complex assignments.Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, reportdetails, and review and testing of software. Provides subjectmatter expertise for one or more application modules / data models ordata analysis tools. Has previous Epic application experience orcertification or healthcare analytics experience including use of Excel or a data visualization software such as Tableau. Responsibilities
(40%)Collaborate and support MyMichigan reporting needs. Work with internal customers to identify reporting needs, gather and documentrequirements, build and test reports, dashboards, and analyticalsolutions. Designs simple to complex queries or analysis usingstructured query language and ensures analytic methodologies arefollowed and makes recommendations where necessary. Assist othertechnical team members with query and report design. Analysts workto integrate, analyze and interpret large data sets to createinsights that drive the accomplishment of MyMichigan StrategicPriorities. Actively engages in required Epic reporting maintenance efforts and responsible for Epic Release and Implementation work required to support MyMichigan growth strategies.
(20%)Leads small support or project initiatives that align with theMyMichigan strategic priorities. Responsible for leading the efforts of small initiatives including planning the work and managing the effort associated with the plan. Leverages support ofothers in completing the tasks on time and collaborates withBusiness and Clinical Leaders per project requirements. Coordinates efforts with other Epic application teams as needed andappropriate.
(15%)Collaborates and supports department data consolidation and datawarehousing needs. Develop Extract, Transformation, and Loadprocesses from source EMR systems into consolidated healthcarereporting systems utilizing tools like Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services - SSIS or develops and / or collaborates to create interactive data visualizations using Tableau or Epic based tools that are easily consumed by end users and leaders.Activities may also include maintenance or refining of data sourcesthat support Tableau Dashboards and indexing content both within the Epic framework and other external tools.
(15%)Support, troubleshooting and problem solving of reporting tools,processes and reported issues. Support existing portfolio ofreports, dashboards, analytical solutionsand tune where necessary. Works directly with end users that reportproblems or errors and executes resolutions. Supports and troubleshoots existing ETL and / content migration processes. Works collaboratively with senior team members, application analysts and Database Administrators when technically complex solutions arerequired.
(10%)System configuration change implementation and validation.Participates in testing reports and extracts during system orbusiness changes. Participates in product upgrades (Epic, Tableau,or other identified tools) and implementations including occasionalweekend or after-hours coverage.

Required Education
Associate's degree is required
Bachelor's Degree in IT, business, or healthcare field or Associate's Degree with three (3) or more years of work related experiences providing advanced application system support.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Preferrably one (1) or more years of experience or more years ofexperience developing applications / reports within Epic, a Business Intelligence tool such as Tableau or, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle,DB2 or other RDBMS platform.
Preferrably proficienct in SQL or expertise in analytics tools such as Tableau.
Exposure to reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting (SSRS); Crystal Reports or Business Objects. Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction techniques.
Exposure to Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) technology, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred.
Experience with integrating data from heterogeneous systems (flatfiles, Excel as well as relational database systems.)
Team orientation, problem solving, and communication skillsrequired. Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability tocollaborate at multiple organization levels across the healthsystem as required, including both technical and non?technical staff.
Epic trained and / or certified preferred. Working knowledge of data models from EMRs and / or healthcare.
