Salary : Position Overview :

Full-time nested Inspector position in Gonzales, Louisiana area, with competitive pay and full benefits for a fully certified AWS CWI. The QA inspector provides site QA / QC guidance and monitors the work activity of employees onsite for compliance with specific policies and procedures. An ideal candidate has the initiative, is well organized, professional with the experience and knowledge necessary to encourage and engage employees to deliver quality products.

Requirements for a QA Inspector :

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector :

Must provide a valid AWS CWI card or certificate

  • Technical knowledge :
  • Thorough understanding of inspection principles, equipment operation, and applicable codes and standards

  • Practical experience :
  • Prior experience performing inspections in relevant industries

  • Strong analytical skills :
  • Ability to interpret complex data and make accurate assessments of inspection results

  • Attention to detail :
  • High level of precision and accuracy in performing inspections and documenting findings

    Required Skills and Experience :

  • Perform QA activities associated with Routine Maintenance, Projects, and Turnarounds.
  • Plan Project and Turnaround QA coverage.
  • Review documents and provide guidance to address deficiencies in quality.
  • Review and approve vendor NDE procedures and WPS.
  • Develop, review, and approve inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Review Code packages.
  • Review vendor drawings.
  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate QA / QC meetings.
  • Create, coordinate, and distribute all QA / QC checklists, inspection requirements, completion lists, and reports.
  • Monitor progress of TAR and project quality activities to proactively solve problems and deliver successful results.
  • Assist unit inspectors / project engineers to develop pressure equipment and piping repair plans.
  • Able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and disciplines.
  • Team oriented able to work in office and field environment.
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma.
  • 10 years QA / QC industry experience
  • AWS CWI required.
  • API certifications will be considered an asset.
  • Valid Drivers License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
  • Pre-employment background checks will be required.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
  • Remain constantly active throughout shift.
  • Vision abilities : close vision, distance vision.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
