Resident Assistant

The Certified Medication Aide will administer medications to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with the facility and SD State Facility of Health policies and procedures.

Resident Care Activities :

• Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor or Director.
• Assists residents with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
• Change bed linens, wash and iron residents' laundry, and clean residents' quarters.
• Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to residents to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
• Prepare and serve meals to residents or other family members, according to prescribed diets.
• Direct residents in simple prescribed exercises or in the use of braces or artificial limbs.
• Check residents' pulse, temperature and respiration.
• Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor.
• The environment of care will be safe, clean, and uncluttered.
