American Traveler is seeking an experienced PICU RN for night shifts, requiring an active OR RN license and a minimum of two years of pediatric critical care experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospitalPatient population includes critically ill or injured children from birth to young adulthood with trauma, surgical, cardiac, respiratory, hematology / oncology, and neurologic conditionsShift schedule is 3x12 hour nights, including weekend shiftsFloating required to NICU and other pediatric units within the hospital, but not to sister hospitalsUses specialized equipment such as Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun temperature management, and Baxer Prismaflex machinesEpic EMR is used and previous experience is requiredResponsibilities include bedside procedures such as central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation / extubation, CRRT and ECMO support, and emergency interventionsCollaborative team environment including intensivists, therapists, nutritionists, and child life specialistsPre-start online modules must be completed prior to first dayScrubs are provided and must be plain, with no prints allowedRTO must be requested up front and cannot exceed two weeksFirst-time travelers considered if they have CVPICU experience and meet all other requirementsReturn staff must have been gone at least six months before being eligible for contract\n \n Requirements\n
