Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- New Jersey (Remote)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience to join our team on a PRN or part-time basis . This is a fully remote opportunity , providing flexibility while delivering high-quality mental health care to patients. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, and managing medications for patients across diverse populations. The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of psychiatric care and telehealth practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations for new and existing patients via telehealth.

Diagnose and manage a range of psychiatric disorders in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.

Prescribe and manage medications while monitoring efficacy and side effects.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and care teams.

Provide patient education and counseling regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication adherence.

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Participate in care coordination, follow-ups, and case reviews to ensure continuity of care.

Comply with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding telemedicine and psychiatric care.

Remain up to date on best practices, treatment protocols, and continuing education in psychiatry.

Requirements :

Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of New Jersey .

Active PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) certification .

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.

DEA license to prescribe controlled substances (or eligibility to obtain one).

Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure, private workspace for remote care delivery.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working in outpatient psychiatry, telepsychiatry, or behavioral health.

Familiarity with diverse patient populations and cultural competency in care.

Strong time management and organizational skills.
