Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit that manages our Electron Microscopy and Mechanical Microscopy products, Atomic Force Microscopes, Raman Microscopes and Benchtop NMR Products. We are part of the wider Oxford Instruments Group that also includes Andor Technology, NanoScience, Plasma Technology and X-Ray Technology. We are looking for a Principal Electronics Engineer to join our New Product Development Team. Your focus will be the design and delivery of electronics solutions for our Materials Analysis products.

Location
We are based in High Wycombe (Cressex) and have hybrid working, this typically looks like 3 days in-office and 2 days in your home office. We have a 37‑hour working week with flex on starting times, and 12 : 30 Friday finishes.

Take responsibility for technical solutions within specific electronics development projects, working flexibly within a multidisciplinary team to deliver the product. Set up and participate in design reviews and keep thorough design and implementation recordsProvide "go to" expertise on electronics issues for the wider technology team. Mentor colleagues to develop their skills in using electronics tools and methodologies. Input to the architectural design processDesign and execute tests to validate systems solutions at appropriate points throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensure new products are transferred adequately to manufacturing and customer support, ensuring appropriate documentation is in placeProvide support for existing products and ongoing support for new products as needed. Including managing engineering changes using official ECR / ECO / BP procedures in our PLM toolPlan, estimate, prioritise and manage own work and work closely with other team members to achieve integrated solutions consistent with project milestonesRecommend new tools and techniques that will continue to improve product quality and the development processMaintain an understanding of the concepts, techniques and requirements of your role.
