Position Summary

Provides direct security and related public services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, patients, and visitors. Serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property.
  • Provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
  • Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to stand and / or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., help restrain or lift a person
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet Tarian driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles)

    • Desired Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with the public in a service setting

    • Taser Qualifications

  • Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a Taser position and annually thereafter
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a Taser
  • Ability to participate in and pass additional Taser training as directed by the Taser instructor

    • Physical Demands & Work Environment

    Work hours vary by assignments and client schedules. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may include any day of the week. The environment can be fast-paced or quiet and requires alertness and the ability to perform under pressure. Duties may include sitting, standing, walking for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities as required. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
