JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’s needs by overseeing maintenance of CRT's leased and owned building structures performing various types of repairs including carpentry, light electrical and light plumbing as assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for various facets of general repair at all CRT sites through the Agency’s work order system.
• Prioritize assignments and complete tasks independently, or with minimal assistance in a timely manner.
• Plumbing knowledge and experience including but not limited to : replacing faucets, sinks, and toilets; unclogging drains; replacing overflow pans.
• Light electrical knowledge and experience including but not limited to : replacing wall plates, tightening wall outlets and switches, changing various types of light bulbs.
• General carpentry experience including but not limited to : replace exterior deck railings, supports, balusters, stair treads, lattice and bracings, replacing door locks, adjusting door frames, hinges, replace metal and wood doors and frames, install side lights, repairing and installing drywall, drop ceiling grids and tiles, repair and replace windows, sashes, screens, locks, replacing VCT Tile and carpeting, installing and repairing, wall and base cabinets, hinges, hinges and locks.
• Knowledge and experience with various aspects of painting including but not limited to : preparing walls for painting, tape off doors, windows, cabinets, cover base and painting walls.
• Responsible for the purchase of general basis repair parts, tools, and supplies as needed for work order assignments.
• Provide daily feedback of tasks completed to Facilities Management for tracking purposes.
• Works with other facilities staff in CRT locations when needed.
• Signing CRT vehicles “in and out" as needed to service and complete work orders at Agency sites as assigned.
• Safeguard agency vehicles, tools, and other CRT properties at all times.
• Removal of snow and ice from agency properties; as needed.
• Perform floor and carpet maintenance (repairs, shampooing, stripping, waxing, etc.)
• Grounds maintenance for Agency worksite (litter, lawn, etc.)
• Assist in moving furniture and equipment as needed
• Picking up and returning rental equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Regular attendance
• Attend and complete all mandatory trainings

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Education : High School Diploma or GED Preferred

Minimum Years of Experience : of two (2) years of experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills preferred.

Demonstrate skills in : carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills

Knowledge of : Ability to read blueprints as well as knowledge of blueprint and construction specifications. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in building maintenance and repair. Ability to perform moderately heavy manual work. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other employees and the general public.

Physical Ability : Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).

Sensory Requirements : Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate odors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate depths. Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination.

Environmental Factors : Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, and toxic / poisonous agents
