We are seeking a seasoned Paralegal with specialized experience in mass torts to join our high-performing legal team. This is a contract role with a potential for a permanent full-time role. You will support filings for multi-plaintiff litigation involving complex personal injury and product liability cases. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing high-volume caseloads with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities :
- Mass Tort Case Management : Coordinate and manage large volumes of plaintiff files, including intake, documentation, and ongoing updates.
- Medical Records Review : Request, organize, and summarize medical records for multiple clients across North Carolina.
- Client Communication : Serve as a liaison for mass tort clients, providing updates, collecting information, and ensuring consistent engagement.
- Discovery Coordination : Assist in preparing and responding to discovery requests, including plaintiff fact sheets, interrogatories, and document production.
- Deadline Tracking : Maintain detailed calendars for mass tort deadlines, including court filings, discovery responses, and settlement milestones.
- Court Filings & Compliance : File legal documents in federal and state courts, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with attorneys, co-counsel, and litigation support teams to ensure seamless coordination across mass tort matters.
- File Review & Maintenance : Conduct regular audits of case files to ensure completeness and accuracy. Identify and resolve any documentation gaps.
- Technology Utilization : Use legal software and systems to streamline case management, track deadlines, and enhance team collaboration.
- General Support : Provide additional litigation support as needed to ensure smooth case progression and attorney preparedness.
Qualifications
Education & Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.Minimum of 57 years in litigation support, with at least 3 years focused on mass torts or multi-plaintiff litigation.Must have plaintiff experience as a Paralegal.Paralegal certification or equivalent professional credential strongly preferred.Deep understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and discovery processes.Skills & Competencies :
