Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Baltimore, Maryland 21201 – Top destination for Maryland nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU); 80% PICU, 20% NICU patients Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : January 5, 2026 Duration : 8-week nursing contract Shift : 12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 30); every other weekend and holiday required Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1930-$2070 Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 (PICU), 1 : 3 (IMC patients) Floating : Required within pediatric specialties (NICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Progressive Care Unit) PICU RN Qualifications Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience (first-time travel nurses considered) BLS and PALS certifications (AHA required) CPI certification preferred Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred Ability to float within pediatric specialties (NICU, Pediatric ED, Pediatric Progressive Care Unit) Two professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor / manager and 1 charge RN) Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Local candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility PICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including congenital cardiac defects, cardiac cath recovery, DKA, respiratory diseases, and behavioral health conditions Manage advanced therapies and equipment : CRRT, mechanical ventilation, vasopressor titration, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, and more Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services) Float as needed to NICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, and Pediatric Progressive Care Unit Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR Participate in unit procedures such as post-cardiac surgery care, post-neurosurgery, and procedural sedation monitoring Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions Educate and support pediatric patients and their families throughout the care process Apply now to join our dedicated Baltimore healthcare team as a PICU Registered Nurse and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
