Procurement Buyer Position

Samtec is looking for a procurement buyer to work in our Colorado Springs, CO facility. This is a day shift position. Hours are M-F 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM. Pay is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour plus applicable bonus and is commensurate with experience. The procurement buyer will require excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Examples of typical duties will include compiling prints, requesting quotes, placing POs, communicating with vendors, following up on delivery dates, and coordinating shipping for equipment. This role will also include basic project and asset management. Communication and schedule management skills will be used daily when discussing requirements with internal customers and external vendors.

Essential functions / responsibilities :

• Responsible for quoting and placing PO's for custom tooling, equipment, hardware, and other miscellaneous items through global vendors
• Communicate with vendors to ensure on time delivery of components, provide updates to engineering team when there are delays or questions from the vendor
• Compile print packages with PDF's and solid models to send to vendors for quoting
• Review purchasing agreements with vendors to ensure terms meet Samtec requirements
• Ensure equipment is set up with Samtec asset management systems correctly
• Onboard new equipment through the Samtec tooling qualification process
• Coordinate shipping and crating for tooling and equipment
