Job Overview : A roofing contractor is responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing roofs on buildings. The contractor should have expertise in various roofing materials, including shingles, metal, and tiles, and be able to work on both sloped and flat roof systems. The role requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities :

• Inspection and Assessment :

Inspect and assess roof damage and determine the best course of action.

Install new roofs according to the manufacturers specifications and industry standards.

Conduct routine maintenance checks on existing roofs.

Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and responding to concerns.

Stay informed about new materials, techniques, and regulations in the roofing industry.

Manage the administrative aspects of the roofing business, if self-employed, including licensing, insurance, and permits.

Work Environment : The work typically takes place in an outdoor setting on residential, commercial, or industrial properties. This position requires preparedness to work in all weather conditions and must be comfortable working at significant heights. The job often requires weekend and overtime work, especially during peak construction periods.

Licensing / Certification : South Carolina Certificate of Liability mandatory
