Schedule

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 07 : 00 AM to 03 : 00 PM, with on-call from 03 : 30 PM to 06 : 00 PM.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse will be part of a dynamic surgical team operating in a facility with 6 operating rooms. The unit mainly handles elective procedures with a volume of 15 to 30 surgical cases per day, focusing primarily on a generally healthy patient population. Specialty procedures include General Surgery, Endoscopy, Plastic Surgery, Robotic Da Vinci Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedic Total Joints / Sports, ENT, and Cataracts.

Responsibilities

Scrub and circulate for various surgical procedures, preferably in multiple specialties.

Work collaboratively with surgical teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical process.

Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to safety protocols.

Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, as well as ongoing skills assessment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Current nursing license valid in the state of New York.

Experience in the operating room, with skills in scrubbing and circulating preferred.

Completion of Bassett Core Competencies and Skills Checklist upon onboarding.

Required immunizations and health screenings, including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB Test, and additional health history documentation.
