About the Concept
We’re opening a new, year-round café and market on Martha’s Vineyard. The menu will focus on breakfast, lunch, and baked goods made in-house — with an emphasis on quality ingredients, simple preparation, and clean, balanced flavors. The space will bring together a bakery, coffee program, and open kitchen designed to serve the community year-round.
Position Summary
We’re seeking a Chef to lead kitchen operations, develop seasonal menus, and help create an environment centered on excellence, efficiency, and creativity. This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-paced kitchen where teamwork and attention to detail matter most.
You’ll collaborate closely with ownership and the front-of-house team to deliver food that’s consistent, thoughtful, and built for daily service.
Responsibilities
Oversee all kitchen operations, including prep, service, and organization
Develop and execute seasonal menus for breakfast and lunch
Manage and train the back-of-house team
Maintain high standards of quality, speed, and cleanliness
Control food costs and inventory
Collaborate with bakery and coffee programs for cohesive offerings
Uphold safety, sanitation, and consistency standards
Qualifications
5+ years of professional cooking experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of simple, ingredient-driven cooking
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage a small, high-output kitchen
Calm and focused under pressure
Excited to relocate to and live year-round on Martha’s Vineyard
Compensation & Benefits
$90,000 – $100,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)
