Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of interventional radiology experience and required MD RT-R ARRT, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a short term acute care hospital's cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab

Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, 40 hours per week

On-call required every other week : Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3 : 30 PM to 10 : 00 PM, and Saturdays from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM

Holiday coverage required every other holiday

Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity

Special procedures include interventional (catheter placements, embolizations, drain and peg placements), pain (epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablation), and vascular (angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filters)

Uses Siemens, GE, and Philips Azurion C-arm equipment and Cerner EMR

Duties include performing a range of interventional, vascular, and pain management procedures in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team

Scrubs are provided

Magnet certified facility

Training modules required pre-start and may be assigned during orientation

Return staff must not have worked at the facility within the past 12 months

Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted over the 13-week contract; no time off allowed in the first two weeks

Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Team support and orientation details provided upon hire

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years interventional radiology or cath lab experience required

Current MD license and RT-R ARRT required

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Experience with angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, thoracentesis, catheter / drain exchange, and central venous access

Proficiency in accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, and use of PACS

Cerner EMR experience required or expected

Computed tomography, ultrasound, and IV start skills preferred

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

License required if applicable
