Skillforce is seeking experienced Journeyman Carpenters for contract-to-hire opportunities in the Iowa City, IA and Cedar Rapids, IA. areas. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of commercial projects with the potential to transition into a long-term, permanent position. The anticipated schedule for this role is 40+hours a week, and pay is up to $28 / hr. depending upon experience.

Key Responsibilities :

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as walls, floors, doors, windows, and cabinetry using hand and power tools.
• Perform framing, drywall installation, and finish carpentry in commercial settings.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Ensure work is completed according to building codes and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure project timelines are met.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
