Engineering Project Manager – Capital Projects & Environmental Compliance

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Project Manager , you will lead the design and execution of complex installation projects , capital improvements , and equipment modifications across the facility. This role is central to supporting plant operations , facility upgrades , and infrastructure reliability .

  • Manage engineering projects related to utilities , physical plant systems , and site infrastructure , including grounds improvements .
  • Act as the primary liaison for environmental compliance , ensuring adherence to EPA and DEP regulations through rigorous testing , reporting , and audits .
  • Plan , budget , and oversee large-scale capital projects from feasibility studies to final execution , ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Develop bid specifications , analyze vendor proposals , and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers .
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to drive engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency and production reliability .
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives in partnership with senior leadership .
  • Maintain active coordination with regulatory agencies , third-party vendors , and project stakeholders .
  • Travel may be required (domestic or international) to support project execution or vendor engagement.
  • Perform additional engineering support tasks and responsibilities as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , or Electrical Engineering , or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5–7 years of engineering experience in a heavy industrial , manufacturing , or production facility setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in capital project management , from concept through to completion.
  • Solid understanding of environmental regulations , compliance standards , and reporting protocols .
  • Exceptional analytical skills , problem-solving abilities , and communication skills .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office , especially Excel and Word .
  • A collaborative mindset , strong work ethic , and commitment to operational excellence .
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when necessary.
