Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing

Surgical experience in a tertiary care center

Experience with Ortho-Trauma, Neuro, General, and Robotics

Skills in Pre-Op / PACU with an ICU skillset in PACU

Description :

The position involves working in surgical services including operating room, pre-operative, and post-anesthesia care.

The team handles a variety of surgical cases such as urology, neuro, ortho, robotic, general, podiatry, and ENT procedures.

Patient ratios in the operating room are 1 : 1.

Pre-Operative patient ratios are 1 : 2.

In PACU, Phase I patient ratios can be 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 based on acuity, while Phase II patient ratios are 1 : 2-3.

Travelers must live more than 100 miles from the facility and first-time travelers are not accepted.

There is a weekend rotation, and call requirements include ideally one overnight shift per week and every third weekend.

Flexibility to float is required as needed between pre-op, PACU, and floor services.

Response time to calls for assistance is expected to be within 15 minutes.

Holiday work will be required on 2 out of 4 major holidays each year.
