Med / Surg RN Job Details – Jackson, TN

Job Title : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift

Location : Jackson, TN 38301 (West Tennessee healthcare jobs)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing, On-Site

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3x12 per week)

Weekly Hours : 36

Assignment Length : 13-week contract

Start Date : November 3, 2025

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680–$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)

BLS Certification (required before first shift)

ACLS Certification (required before first shift)

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a hospital setting; 2 years preferred

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Ability to supervise and direct LPNs, CNAs, and orientees

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients following individualized care plans

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR

Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient care planning

Coordinate discharge planning and deliver patient / family education

Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety protocols

Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff

Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members

Support team building and contribute to a positive work environment

Assume charge nurse duties as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
